Smith River Paw Park

Smith River Paw Park is a dog-friendly, membership-only off-leash park in Martinsville, VA. Your pet will love to run around and play at this fenced area! Dogs must be vaccinated and well-mannered. To gain access, please bring your registration form and proof of license and current rabies shot to the SPCA during regular business hours. Upon confirmation, you will be issued a personal security code for the electronic lock at the main gate of the park. Visit Website

Not like the picture
It’s sad this is the only dog park in all martinsville. The obstacle you see in the profile is not what it looks like. It’s a nice fenced area open to the public but all you can hear is dogs barking because it’s behind the spca. I give this place 3 stars because it’s private and there was water and toys for my pup. This place could have more potential if it was maintained better. I wish there was more places to take my dog around here.

Dog park is Private
We drove up from NC to check out the dog park and it is not open to the public. When we searched this dog park it didnt say anything about not being open to the public and it was posted on a dog park website. It needs to be taken off the dog park pages.

Best Dog Park In South Central Virginia
Very nice dog park; better than the one in FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA; oh wait! FRANKLIN COUNTY doesn't have a dog park!!! Not only is this a nice dog park for residents of FRANKLIN COUNTY to take their pooches to, but there are also a lot of shops and restaurants for FRANKLIN COUNTIANS to spend their FRANKLIN COUNTY earned money, since FRANKLIN COUNTY has neither a dog park nor a decent restaurant. All in all, I give this dog park 5 Bones. Did I mention that I live in FRANKLIN COUNTY?
