Gardens are gorgeous. Staff friendly and helpful. Recommend visiting with your dog (or not).
- MichelleJul 9, 2023So many fido friendly photo ops!
We went outside of tulip time and it was so beautiful! So many gardens and flower! We took turns going through the Windmill because pups can't go up there. The rest is super dog friendly!

beautiful gardens! dog friendly but very busy with people and dogs. leash your dog and be respectful of others.
- Rescue Dog FamJul 5, 2022Beautiful Walk with Dogs!
My dogs love going new places. They love meeting new people and new dogs, new smells, being out and about, and are generally happy dogs.
We so appreciate dog friendly places like Windmill Island Gardens. It was so neat to see the organ, the windmill, and the little village set up. We have to travel with our dogs, so we appreciate being able to go to these dog friendly places to see/learn something new.
The windmill was cool. If you want to go inside though, you'll have to bring someone with you to hold the dog while you go in and vice versa. It's ok. My husband and I are used to taking turns in places. Someone sits with the dogs, and then we switch places. It's still really cool to see the windmill even if you don't have a chance to go inside.
Would recommend the trip to Windmill Island Gardens with your dog.
- BethSep 4, 2020Nice Place For A Walk!
Due to Covid some of the areas were closed but it was still nice to see and it was a pretty walk!
- LaurenAug 16, 2020Nice Spot
We went during Covid, and it was very pleasant to walk around and enjoy the gardens. There is not a ton of shade, so if you are going in the summer you want to bring water for the pup! There is not a ton to do here(windmill is closed during Covid) but a nice spot nonetheless!
