    Read Before Going. . .

First off this is the country club of dog parks. Amazing trails!!However you should know because it’s the country club they charge $20 for the day if you are a non resident. For that $20 you’re probably thinking they will provide water for your dog but not the case. And be careful because if your dog is thirsty their are plenty of spots on the pond that would be an ideal location for blasto. Also it is muddy and easy to slip in some areas, and lastly their outhouse is sketchy at best. Otherwise I gave it 2 stars because my dogs loved to swim in the one clean spot on the giant pond (although I think the signs say stay out of water which is confusing since most dogs are in it) If you’re a resident it’s probably well worth paying the annual fee. As for me I won’t be back to Libertyville again.

    Best Dog Park around!

Have been going here for about 5 years now, trails, open area, wooded areas, and a mulched path. There are a few areas open to the water/lake (actually a former rock quarry) this place is great. Bring your boots in bad weather, but I guarantee your fur baby will love this place. Be prepared to socialize as well as get a solid walk in. The entire area is about 30-40? acres, not sure, but its big, beautiful and a good time for you and your dogs. Mostly fenced except on the far backside which backs up to the main forest preserve. If you stick to the main path, this will never be an issue.

    Great outdoors for dogs

A really great facility. We'll worth the $40 a year permit.

This dog park saved me and my dog

Independence Grove Dog Exercise Area... This place is just one of the top places in the country for dogs in my opinion. I recently Moved to North Carolina and there is not a single place like this in a 100 mile radius!
Nothing in North Carolina, South Carolina, or Georgia!!!
I was struggling thorough some rough times battling cancer when i was 15-18 and this was the park i could go to and walk my dog around, he would swim and play with other dogs while i rested at various benches and picknick tables. he overcame his fear of getting wet here and now swimming is his most favorite thing. even more than treats! if i ask him if he wants a treat and my mom asks him if he wants to go swimming, he will run to the door whining and jumping to go that way excited dogs do, completely forgetting i had a treat in my hand. I was able to build strength here, and escape with my pup from the stress of being sick all the time. so if you get the chance, please check out this Dog Park, it is so worth the trip and the 5 dollars for the parking permit. (or 44 dollars for a year pass, which is soooo worth it)
