Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park

Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park is a pet-friendly attraction in Mendocino, CA. You and Fido can wander the half-mile coastal trail to the lighthouse that was built in 1909. Once you arrive at the historic building, you don't have to leave Fido outside, they can enter the building with you and look around. The park is open every day of the week from sunrise to sunset. Easy quiet walk
The coast is gorgeous. light station is cool, although we didn’t go inside. asked for a $5 donation and I didn’t have any cash on me. you need masks on your walk if you want to see museum or gift shop. Nice, easy 1.5 ish mile walk with my dog.

Flat walk with beautiful views
We also did what the last reviewer did, unimproved trail in and paved road back to the parking lot. The trail is flat, it is a bit narrow at points with growth. We did this on a Monday during Covid, very few folks out. There is a historical house you can rent by the lighthouse that welcomes pets. Ocean views at the end, great walk!

Perfect For Dogs And Kids!
WE walked the 3/4 mile unimproved trail to the coast and the Lighthouse, and then returned to the parking area on the paved 1/2 mile trail. Very picturesque and easy walk/hike. Great for all dogs and all ages. Interesting history and excellent restoration of a community treasure.
