Sweetwater Preserve Trailhead

Sweetwater Preserve Trailhead is a pet-friendly set of trails around the foothills of Tucson that are great for all levels of hikers. Although dogs are permitted on the trails, so are horses and mountain bikes which means you and Fido need to be extra careful and they must be on a leash. The trails are plentiful, allowing a lot of freedom for dogs to explore. The best time of year to check these trails out is from October until March. Visit Website

Great Hike for the whole family!

You can make this hike as short and easy or long as you want. Just watch out for equestrians and mountain bikers. Everyone was super courteous and friendly.

    Nice, Easy Hike

We’ve hiked here during two mornings in October. The trails are great, easy, single track trails with clearly marked signs at each intersection. Wear sturdy shoes and watch for cactus!
