Mission Peak Regional Preserve
Mission Peak Regional Preserve in Fremont, CA is dog friendly. This popular 3,000 acre park offers opportunities for hiking, camping and horseback riding. Leashed pets are welcome to accompany you on numerous hiking trails, to bird watch, or admire an abundance of spring wildflowers adorning the hillside. Hikers who embark on a trek to Mission Peak will be rewarded with views of Mount Hamilton, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Mt. Tamalpais, Mt. Diablo and the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The preserve can be accessed through the Ohlone Entrance at 43600 Mission Boulevard, or the Stanford Avenue Staging Area on Stanford Avenue. Pet owners should be mindful that dogs can over-heat on strenuous trails, especially on warm summer days. Hike with Fido on cool days, take regular breaks, and carry plenty of water.
