We frequent the trails near Tierrasanta. We canicross (basically running with your dog) and I love the wide gravel fire roads. My only complaint is that people don't seem to clean up after their dogs. We bring bags and there are trash cans at the trail head to toss it out. Overall definitely recommend. We go a few times a week and love it!
- LauraMore than a year agoSo many trails to choose from!
Mission Trails has a few more popular hiking/walking trails but a plethora of hidden gems depending on your starting location. Worth peeking at a trail map to find a few with miles of gorgeous views and few people around! Gets very hot in the summers, but our dog loves cruising the trails and always comes back tired :)
- JulianMore than a year agoNot much
Humans aren't even allowed to swim in the "lake", and dogs are supposed to be at least 50 feet from the water. It leaves you walking around the parking lot and some short trails or sitting at a table. Seems like a great place to fish or bring your boat, but not very fun for the dogs.

Mission Trails has great trails and a 1.5 mile paved road to walk. Always clean and people are friendly.
