The Ashton to Tetonia Trail
Dogs are welcome on the Ashton to Tetonia Trail in Ashton, ID. This pet-friendly trail stretches for nearly 30 miles through the classic countryside of Idaho. The trail itself follows the route of a once important railroad, the Oregon Short Line, that used to connect isolated communities and transport livestock. Nowadays, it's frequented by bikers and hikers who are looking to explore the farmland in this pretty rural area. As well as the fields full of various crops, you'll also pass over three historic bridges, wander through pine trees, and witness wonderful views of the Teton Mountains.

This is a great trail you can access year round. Leashed dogs are appreciated, as you will likely see bikes, horses, walkers and cross country skiers in the winter. There are several area to start but I like the Judkins trailhead for a quick 3 mile hike to the train trestle and back.
