Illinois Beach State Park

Illinois Beach State Park, also known as Adeline Jay Geo-Karis Illinois Beach State Park, stretches 6.5 miles along the sandy shores of Lake Michigan in Zion, IL. This pet-friendly park is split into two sections that can be explored by dogs and their owners. You can go on coastal walks together along the sand, or head inland and revel in the beauty of the huge wooded areas of pine trees and black oak. There are five miles of trails to enjoy on the south side of the park, including sections of the Zion Bike Trail, a 2.2 mile loop with a graveled surface, and a multi-use loop as well. Fido is welcome as long as they are on a leash under six feet and you pick up after them. The park is open every day of the week from 8am until 8pm. Visit Website

    Dogs

Have seen some dogs walking around the trails and by the beach. I feel like as long as they are leashed and not causing problems. Why not let them enjoy the walks by the beach.

    Fido Not Allowed On Beach

We ventured to this park today, 8/3/19, and found that pets aren’t actually allowed on the beach. Sadly disappointed! But looks like a great park to come to without pups
