Chain o' Lakes State Park

Chain o' Lakes State Park in Spring Grove, IL, is dog friendly. Pets and their owners are welcome to come and explore this varied and beautiful scenic area. Located among Illinois' largest collection of lakes, the park borders Grass, Marie, and Nippersink. Also joined up to the Fox River, this waterway connects the other seven lakes: Bluff, Fox, Pistakee, Channel, Petite, Catherine, and Redhead in the chain. There are four trail systems for you and Fido to use, including the Nature's Way hiking trail at just over two miles in length; The Pike Marsh North Picnic Area with a shorter, quarter-mile trail; and three other looped trails that vary in length. The best time to visit is fall when the many varieties of trees, including cherry, elm, birch, sumac, and spruce, are all beautifully changing color. Visit Website
