    Well manicured stroll

As you might imagine this space is well maintained: the trails are in remarkably good shape, trails are fairly well marked and the poison oak has been trimmed back from the edges of the trails. The parking lot has limited space and there does not appear to be any nearby off road parking so I imagine this place looks a bit nutty on the weekends. There is an open display area highlighting local flora as well as nice benches nearby and several clean single-person bathrooms.

On the day we were there we saw bicyclists—some polite, others less so—joggers, birders, and other folks out with their pups. The loop we took brought us by a man made lake and to a vista. All told, with a few misstarts, it was about 3.7 miles.

I’m sure if I lived nearby this would be a place I would frequent. As an out-of-towner I suspect my expectations did not align to what we experienced: Percy and I went in search of nature and we found a “natural” well-manicured space.
