Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is dog-friendly. The park can be found on top of a high cliff that overlooks Pennyrile Lake near Dawson Springs. Dogs are welcome on the many trails that weave around the park, as long as they are on a leash under six feet in length. The shortest trail is the Thompson's Hollow Trail that leads you to a picnic area; and the longest trail is Pennyrile Nature Trail, 13.5 miles of moderate pathway that will take you on a guided tour of the scenic pine woodland in the area. There are a number of other trails that lead to various overlooks and interesting landmarks. Pet owners are reminded to clean up any mess that their animals make while visiting the park to preserve the cleanliness of the water and surrounding area. Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is open every day of the week from 6am to 11pm.
