Dog in a hotel bed

Description

Poverty Point Reservoir State Park is pet-friendly. The centerpiece of this park is the 2,700-acre, man-made lake that is hugely popular among recreational boat users and anglers alike. You and Fido can check out the nature trail that winds along an off-shoot of Bayou Macon. Keep your eyes peeled for black bears who love the woodland alongside the water. Due to the wildlife in the area and other trail users, pet owners are reminded to keep their pooch on a leash for the duration of their visit. To keep the waterways clean, please remember to pick up after your pooch too. Poverty Point Reservoir State Park is open Sunday through Thursday from 6am to 9pm and Friday to Saturday from 6am to 10pm.
