    Great Location! Great Trails!

We went everyday on our recent vacation to colorado. Our dog loved all the different trails and of course the off leash fenced in area.

    Beautiful views for a hike

We came here to get in a day hike with our fur baby. The sights were amazing! We accidentally ended up on an advanced trail, so don’t be like us and be sure to read the map with the trails. Also there are no areas that provide water for your pup so be sure to bring some water and a bowl.

    Perfect hiking spot!

We tried coming a few days ago but it was mid-day and too hot. We came back this morning and the weather was perfect! We had a fantastic time! The trails were well maintained and my pup Lilo thoroughly enjoyed herself

Great area for off leash space!

We did the short loop and it was perfect! Our two dogs were able to be off leash and run in the fenced area. Otherwise, outside of the fenced area we were able to have them leashed and do the other trails. Recommend!

Second favorite hike in the area

Less crowded than the Garden of the Gods, with a few trail options. We took intermediate and wasn't bad at all. Got to see a nice size buck while there. Not paved but trails are clearly marked with sand type gravel. Leashed along trails but they do have a huge fenced open run area for the dogs as well. Was only one other dog using it, I have one dog selective one so we didn't use it, but had we gotten there early I'm sure we could have had it all to ourselves. Outhouse only bathroom option. FREE

    Red Rock Canyon

Honestly, hubs and I needed to be in better shape because we're from Texas and the air is thinner here. Time to start walking again, kids! Anyway, it was hot as Hades and so we didn't do all that well on the hike. Heidi the pup handled it like a champ and loved it. We stayed on the main trails. The offshoots were probably better. Didn't stay long.

    Not Your Typical Dog Park

We hiked on trails on leash today and then stopped at the fenced dog park section. It was rugged and hilly and my dog loved running around off leash exploring the area. There were no other dogs to visit with today but that was fine. we walked the perimeter while she had fun running around. There is no shade but it was cloudy today so it was perfect.

    Great Views

Had a fun time walking some relatively easy trails with smashing views. We forgot to pick up a trail map, but if you kept you eye on the mountains and the Garden of the Gods you can’t go wrong. Will definitely go back again before we leave.

    Wonderful hiking!

My dog and I stumbled upon this hiking space on our recent trip to Colorado, and we're both so glad we did! We did the Mesa/Greenlee trail, and it wasn't too difficult, but gave us both some good exercise. They do have two fenced-in areas where dogs can run off-leash, but my guy is an escape artist, so I didn't want to let him roam free without being able to thoroughly check the fences. It wasn't too crowded at all, and the scenery was breathtaking. If we ever come back to Colorado, this will definitely be on our list of places to return to.

    Favorite Place !

Loved all the trails here! moderate to more advanced. Just make sure you bring plenty of water. We saw mule deer and geese and the view is spectacular. Our little dog loved it!

    My dogs favorite spot!

My dog absolutely loved this space. There is an off leash dog park not far up from the parking lot right as you come in, its the perfect spot to toss a ball or frisbee around. I will say there are plenty of cacti around so be cautious, but my dog did pretty well of keeping clear of them. There is also a lake right up the trail from the second parking lot which he lost his mind being able to jump in, cool off and play for a bit. Overall a very nice spot for your animals.

Dog loop and fenced in area!

Awesome easy hike through some red rocks. They have fenced in the upper portion and there is a good space for dogs to run around! You can see Garden of the Gods from there!

    Pretty Park

Red Rock Open Space used to be a place only the locals enjoyed but has certainly grown in popularity amongst tourists. There is a good amount of parking but if you go midday on a weekend you are definitely going to search for an open spot so suggest getting there before noon. The trails here are very well maintained and are easy-moderate depending on your fitness level. There is a section that is considered off leash but honestly I wouldn't bother since its just a small open prairie area that is not fenced. There are some great views as you ascend of garden of the gods so don't just stay in the lower trails.

    Great Hike

I have gone to RRCOS before for Rock Climbing, but today was the first time we went with the dog. We started on the S 31st Side and did a 3 mile loop through the Old Quarry, by the ponds, and along the Red Rock Rim Trail. I give this 5 bones because of the ease of access to the parking area, the conditions of the trails (Very well kept) and today it was not crowded on the East side of the open space. We are already planing the next hike through the south end of the space. Great day for both of the Humans and the Sheba Inu on the Red Rocks!

    Fun Circuit

Spent Saturday morning following the lower and upper dog loops. It was a great experience. Not half as crowded as the closest dog park. No dog scraps. Just a great time.

    the dogs get scraps here

The off leash area is an after thought. The area for dogs is not contained or fenced. Its simple an open plateau the size of a drug store parking lot. No features except abundant red dirt and dust. Stay home.
