Dogs are welcome at North Point State Park in Edgemere, Maryland. Located on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, this spot is truly a place of natural beauty. As well as the beautiful coastal views, you can take a look at the original trolley station, now used as a covered picnicking area, and working fountain from the Bay Shore Amusement Park that used to draw lots of visitors between 1906 and 1947. Wildlife lovers will enjoy the varied animals that call the park their home, including muskrats, beavers, foxes, otters, osprey, great blue herons, and bald eagles. Additionally, dogs who love walkies will be able to take a wander on The Defenders Trail, which was used by soldiers during the War of 1812, that passes through the park. Leashed pets are allowed in day-use areas after Labor Day to Memorial Day weekend, as long as all mess is cleaned up after them. North Point State Park is open every day of the week from 8am until sunset.
