Point Lookout State Park
Point Lookout State Park is dog-friendly. Located on the southernmost tip of a peninsula formed by Chesapeake Bay and the Potomac River, this is one of Maryland's most popular state parks, so be prepared to share the space with lots of other visitors. The park's peaceful beaches and coastline are a far cry from the old use of the area, a prison camp for Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. Dogs are allowed in Malone Circle, Tulip Loop, Green's Point Loop and Hoffman's Loop in the campground, on the paved portion of the causeway, on the beach north of the causeway to entrance of Tanner's Creek on Bay side, and on the beach south of causeway on the Bay side. They are also allowed in boat launch areas to board vessels and in all day-use areas after Labor Day to Memorial Day weekend. Pet owners are reminded to keep their dogs on a leash for the duration of their visit and to clean up any mess that they leave behind. Point Lookout State Park is open every day of the week from 6am until sunset.

Quick drive or walk from a ton of campgrounds! Our dogs loved it and it wasn’t crowded at all so you can layout or swim yourself no problem.
