Sandy Point State Park

Dogs are welcome to join their owners at Sandy Point State Park in Annapolis, Maryland. Another Maryland park along the stunning Chesapeake Bay, this one is known for beaches and picnic areas with great views across the water and the coast. The park is also popular among dog walkers because of the numerous trails located here, including the Symbi Trail, starting at one of the picnic areas and leading you through pine forests. There are also four miles of trails that border the Corcoran Tract, where you may find other animals going about their days and a variety of different plant life. Dogs are allowed to join their owners in the day use areas of the park during the off-season between October 1 to April 30. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed during the summer months. If you're planning on bringing your pet with you, make sure they are on a leash and you clean up any mess after them. The park is open from January 1 to October 31 from 7am to sunset and November 1 to December 31 from 7am to 5pm. Visit Website

My little poodle mix was in absolute heaven. She is not good in crowds and there were none. It was sprinkling a little but she could have cared less. Plenty of space and hardly anyone at the park. Perfect for dogs and humans. Saw one pile of poop so not everyone cleans up but that is typical of the type of people I don't want to run into at a park anyway. Only $3 per car. I am used to free beaches (West Coast) but that was better than the usual $10/person that it would be in the summer. Will definitely be going back.
