Dog in a hotel bed

St. Clements Island State Park is pet-friendly. This uninhabited island is located a mile and a half from Colton's Point on the Potomac River. The island was the first port of call for early British settlers who came to Maryland, a memorial cross stands there today to commemorate them. Water taxis will take you to and from the island, but it's worth calling ahead to find out an updated schedule of departure and arrival times. St. Clements Island State Park is open every day of the week from sunrise to sunset.
