    West Shore / Flathead Lake State Park

    Leashed dogs are welcome to visit the pet-friendly West Shore at Flathead Lake State Park in Lakeside, MT. Visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, camping or a picnic! The rocky shoreline can be traversed on one of the trails located at the park, leading to pretty views of Flathead Lake and the Mission and Swan Mountain Ranges. Visit Website

      Paddle With Your Pup

      We went here after finding out Volunteer Park is not dog-friendly. Our dog enjoyed hiking the shaded trails. There’s a paddle board/kayak rental place near the boat ramp that allows dogs to ride in the kayaks. We had a great time paddling to Goose Island and the surrounding beaches.

      Rocks And Trees Galore

      There is a $6 fee for the day pass. We were looking for water access and got it - very secluded, quiet, and small. It’s nice for a day away from the community parks, but has lots of big rocks at the entry areas so bring your water shoes. Lots of tree cover and shade, picnic tables, bathrooms, and clean water fountain. There are lots of trails to walk, but we’ve bypassed those so far with the kiddos along.
