Abram S. Hewitt State Forest

Abram S. Hewitt State Forest is dog-friendly. This hiker's haven is not for the faint-hearted. This relatively untouched hemlock and oak forested area has some trails scattered around that can be a little difficult to scramble at times. If Fido is light and doesn't mind being carried for some sections, the view at the top is well worth the effort. A section of the Appalachian Trail also runs through the park. Visit Website
