Abram S. Hewitt State Forest
Bring Fido to explore the pet-friendly Abram S. Hewitt State Forest in West Milford, NJ. This hiker's haven is not for the faint-hearted. The relatively untouched hemlock and oak forested area has some trails scattered around that can be a little difficult to scramble at times. If your pup is light and doesn't mind being carried for some sections, the view at the top is well worth the effort. A section of the Appalachian Trail also runs through the park.
