I've walked my dogs on sections of the Mesa Trail for years. There are a number of entry points, and widely varying difficulty levels. The entire trail is 6 miles long, winding at the base of the Flatirons (all of them) down to Eldorado Canyon Road. There is truly something for everyone on this trail, and encounters with other dogs are common. Encounters with other forms of wildlife (deer, skunk, coyote, bear) are not unknown, but not frequent. If Mesa Trail itself gets dull, numerous other trails branch off into canyons, up to Royal Arch, up many of the Flatirons, etc. You'll do a lot of hiking before this trail gets old!
