Guadalupe River State Park
Visit the pet-friendly Guadalupe River State Park in Spring Branch, TX. This premium swimming spot is a great place to come for a dip, but it's more than a great swimming hole. The scenery is stunning and the park is steeped in history. There are four miles of river frontage and 13 miles of hike and bike trails, ranging from the 2.86-mile Painted Bunting Trail to the .26-mile Barred Owl Trail. Spend the day hiking along the river and then hop in a kayak with your pooch for an adventure on the water. Adults incur a charge of $7 and children under 12 enter for free.

Our dog had his first swim. The river is shallow, and he was able to wade in and take his time. Next thing we knew, he was swimming. He loved floating on the river with us and watching all of the families having a great afternoon in the river on a hot summer day.
