  Leash free for dogs

  Went there today with our nine month old Siberian husky. We keep her on a long leash So she’s under control at all times. All the dogs that were there were off leash. Their humans didn’t have good control for the most part. The humans didn’t seem to care the dog came running up to yours. I get it it’s a nice park and the dogs can chase the ball but there are off leash times in the morning. It would be nice if they were respected

  Off leash From 6am -9am only, and no off leash on Monday

  it use to be off leash all day from Tuesday- Sunday but now they changed the rules. Still a great park but sad that we can’t go fetching with our dog’s anymore.

  GREAT PLACE TO BRING DOGS

  My husband, our dog Cocoa, and I went on Saturday, 8/3/2019, and noticed there were a lot of dogs off leash in the grassy area/parking lot area. We went on the trail-hike and I saw that dogs were on leashes. The reason for four stars instead of five, because I feel that there should have been a fenced-in area for people who want there dogs off of a leash.

  The park is beautiful! Parking was $2 for one hour or $5 maximum. I noticed some people were parking on the street and walking in. (I posted 2 photos of Cocoa on the trail-hike wearing her dog shoes and showing shes on a leash)

  Beautiful Park - needs better dog owners!

  This park has a large grassy areas when you first enter, that is the off-leash area. When my dog and i visited, it was our first time and we didn't know it was off-leash. Unfortunately, dog owners already there were less than considerate and allowed their pack of dogs to come running over. I had to scramble to get my large 75 pounder away. Luckily, there's also a trail immediately at the entrance which we escaped to. Once on the trails, every dog we met was on-leash and owners told me all dogs on trails and in the back area are supposed to be on-leash. The trails themselves are gradual grades and the land is currently (May 2019) in profuse bloom, with many wildflowers and mustard. Overall, we had a good hike and would recommend the park - just not the inconsiderate dog owners.

  Bad Dogs vs. Bad Dog Owners

  The one problem I have at Arroyo Verde is the owner of a boxer. That boxer has attacked at least 3 dogs in the past 2 weeks, yet the owner is in denial and yells at anyone who dares approach him about these attacks. Would like to see a park attendant policing the area and evicting irresponsible dog owners. There are no bad dogs--just bad dog owners!

  I love this park!

  I took Penny here this past weekend for the dog park and she had so much fun. Afterwards we did the trails and she was worn out! Best play day ever. The trails are pretty easy. It did get burned by the Thomas Fires so there't not too much to look at but still beautiful views of the ocean when you get to the top.

  Off Leash Times

  Every morning (except Mondays, for maintenance) Arroyo Verde welcomes off-leash dogs until 9 am. There are regularly lots of playful, happy, friendly dogs there. It's a beautiful long and skinny park, nestled in a valley between mountains, with excellent protection from the road.
  Hiking trails also surround the park.
  I'll admit I sometimes go after off-leash hours and I've never been the only rule-breaker or been reprimanded.
  Highly recommend -- give it a try! And say hello -- I'll probably be there :)
