Very rocky, a little dirty with trash. Long Beach to walk on. Not my favorite

The beach is rocky, but very tranquil. My dog enjoyed walking in the water, and I enjoyed the view. Overall, I think this is a great location to spend a few hours.

I’m a Rockhound and want to call this place Pilgrim HEAVEN! Our dogs only know rocky beaches-so they were quite at home! Shoes are definitely needed unless you have tough feet! I have water shoes so I was prepared. It’s even handicap accessible!

We looked up a dog friendly beach and found this one. It was too rocky, the dogs did not like it. Had to wear shoes the whole time even in the water. We did not enjoy hobbling on the rocks.

super small area, tons of rocks. didn’t really get in the water

With the directions provided we ended up just outside a gated community along Lake Michigan. If this was a place, it isn’t anymore. Ended up going to Hagar Beach along Lake Michigan instead. Very nice beach and dogs on leash are allowed.

awesome little area. the beach access was nice but very rocky. there was a nice little trail that you can walk but small area to explore. free parking.

We enjoyed the trails through the woods, near the stream and in the fragrant meadow. The beach area was narrow and very rocky, so shoes are a must and tender-footed dogs may be reluctant at first but this was a good combination of a nature walk and water access. I wouldn’t come here for swimming myself due to the rocks but it’s clean and clear water without too many people and a good place for dogs to play after hiking through the trails. We noticed all dogs were leashed while we were there. No dog messes or trash laying around. Nice!
- AmandaMay 15, 2020Beautiful, but Rocky
This is a beautiful natural area, away from the business of the South Haven beaches! The actual beach itself is very rocky, so not ideal for dogs. The wooded area and trails are beautiful though! We found a nice place to set up near where the stream lets out into the lake and our dogs had a blast splashing in the stream as it was nice and sandy!
