  It's not what it appears

  The first time I went with the dog, I was totally unimpressed -- a paved bike path, a short "garden path." Don't believe the "1.3 mile trail on the city's website. The second time I went I followed the sign to "picnic area and horse shoes" and found a whole different park. A large field (turns out there are a couple) and several main paths through the woods heading down to Walnut Creek with many subsidiary paths to explore on another day.Only saw two other people on the trails: both women with their dogs (this was a week day in August: the shade was a delight). Looking for trail maps, I've only found the bike path and longer trail that goes to Walnut Creek District Park (through neighborhoods). You can also access the fields / paths from the neighborhood.The actual park area has a pool, a playground, bathrooms, etc.
