    Olde Port Beach

    Olde Port Beach is a dog-friendly beach in San Luis Obispo, CA. This popular beach is the first beach you will find after crossing the bridge out of Avila and into Port San Luis. It welcomes dogs to play off-leash. This stretch of sand is enclosed on each end by a cliff, so pups can’t get too far. It has parking along the road and a ramp down to the sand. The beach is accessible all the time, but lifeguards are seasonal. Visit Website

      Doggie Heaven

      My dog would live here if she could. The stairs and ramp give easy access to the road, which made me a little nervous. If your dog is trustworthy and/or has excellent voice recall, you’ll love it here.

      I’ve never seen dogs as happy as they are at this beach. They can run free, play in the ocean, dig in the sand, chase and play with other dogs. Most dogs we’ve encountered are well behaved but if one does become too aggressive the place is big enough that we can just move to another area. Poop bags are provided at 2 of the 3 entrances and there is usually adequate parking close by.

      Fun dog beach!

      This was a safe beach where everyone was comfortable letting their pups off leash to enjoy a day with the family!! Small, but plenty of room to find a spot and definitely just a beach for families/people with dogs. Don’t come if you don’t like dogs!!!
