    Baxter loves it!

Large park with lots of shade. Two sides but not designated for large or small dogs. Water was turned off for the winter but we had water in the car. Each time we travel from our home in Ft Worth to LA to visit family, we stop here to let Baxter romp!

    Worth Stopping During I-40 Travel

If your dogs need a break while traveling through Flagstaff, this dog park is 5 minutes off the freeway at the back of Bushmaster Park. You will have to walk your dog around on the sidewalk to the back side of the fence to reach the gate. There is a covered picnic table and lots of agility features. There is a water fountain for humans and dogs. Big pine trees provide shade. We were happy that visitors have kept poop picked up. There are OK park restrooms next to the parking and lots of trash cans to make everyone’s visit more comfortable.

    Long walk from the address

There is a closer parking lot if you go from E Lockett Rd then turn south on N Thomas Dr.

    Big and open

Huge area to run. All dirt and no grass. Has small dog area and large dog. Noticed some small pieces of broken glass randomly. Lots of large dog agility equipment but nothing in the small dog area.

Big Space To Play But Only Large Dog Area Has Enrichment

THe Park is very large but is all dust and dirt. The large dog area has some nice enrichment and agility items but the small dog area is just open space and we did find some broken glass in the small dog area.

    Fun park

While traveling through town, we found this park thanks to Bring Fido. The off-leash park isn't immediately visible from the parking lot, but it was just a short walk towards the playground. There were 2 parks. A small one and a pretty large one with some fun agility-like things to play on/in. No grass, so it's a little dirty, but good space to run after being in the car all day.

    nice park

We stopped on our way home. Really liked the park clean big fully fenced. After a nice off leash romp we jumped on a trail for a leash walk.

Less Crowded than Thorpe; New Amenities

Barkmaster Park @ Bushmaster Park has a good amount of fenced in area and an agility course as well. The park itself in the area is getting a playground, picnic ramadas and a roller/ice skating area. They're building a new parking lot right by the dog park. Should be all ready this fall. And...the bonus is some dogs there but not as crowded as Thorpe.

    Renovated Barkmaster dog park

In 2015, Flagstaff Recreation Services moved the dog park to a central location in Bushmaster Park and added new ramada's, dog friendly obstacle course elements and water facets. There is also a large dog and a separate small dog enclosures. A wonderful off leash area for dogs.

    Concrete area

Bushmaster park is very nice and the walk to get to the dog park is grassy & shady. Too bad the fenced area itself has a large concrete area flanked by dirt and trees. We didn't go in and no one was there.

    Fenced Dog Park

Yes, Bushmaster Park DOES have a 'barkmaster' park! You must walk through the park to get to it. It has an area for small breeds and an area for large breeds, with agility items for the dogs. It's usually pretty clean and most dogs/owners abide by the rules.

    Not a dog park

This is a dog friendly park. Dogs must be leashed at all times. A local informed us that an area of Thorpe Park is for unleashed dogs.
