Mayor Baxter Woods

Baxter Woods is a dog-friendly forested retreat in the midst of residential neighborhoods in Portland, ME. Bring Fido along for a stroll on one of the primary or secondary trails in the 29-acre park. Most of the area is shaded and surrounded by pines. There are also two ponds and an open meadow. Dogs must be leashed at all times and humans must clean up after their dogs. Visit Website

    We like it!

    This park has a bunch of trails and an open space for dogs to romp. It is off leash, but make sure dogs are close when there are small children around as kids love running up to try to pet my dog and I have to tell them not to. During the week it is pretty quiet and that's when I usually go.
