Berkeley Lake Dog Park

Berkeley Lake Dog Park in Denver, CO, is a designated off-leash area located near the intersection of Sheridan Blvd and West 46th Avenue, near the historic Lakeside Amusement Park. There is a parking lot just off West 46th Avenue, and then head northwest from there along the path. Pet owners will be happy to know there is a separate fenced in area specifically designed for dogs under 25 pounds. The park can be a bit noisy do to its location but amusement park lights and roller-coaster sounds add to the atmosphere on fair-weather nights. Bring water as there is no access to the lake from inside the dog park. Visit Website

    The area isn’t green grass

The picture advertised above is majorly inaccurate. The entire fenced dog park is nothing but tiny pebbles and sand.

    Great I-70 stop

Traveling through and the dogs needed to stretch their legs. Great place, huge area for high energy dogs and an area for low energy dogs!

    Great Dog Park

I am not from Colorado and I must say I like the sand idea you don’t have to worry about mud. I like the facility and the large space.

It’s a giant dog litter box

I feel bad for the people who give this spot 5 bones - clearly they’ve never been to a nice dog park. This is a sand pit, that smells awful (like urine) and it’s got the ambiance of a freeway and an amusement park next door.

Great park for dogs of all sizes

This park is pretty great. We do the walk around the lake before playing in the park, but my dog loves coming here. Most owners are courteous and cleanup after their dog and most of the dogs get along well with others. I've seen very few incidents and mostly the owners handled it with class. Gets hot in the summer as there isn't a lot of shade, but still a great place.

    Fun

The dog park has a low energy and high energy area. I didn't check to see if the water fountain worked. There were a few dogs for a decent sized. Could def. use more shading .

    Good park for active dogs

Bring my border collie here every day, usually twice. Good owners who for the most part pick up after their dog and I have seen very few problems with other dogs. Area could use more shade but has some. The ground is that pea gravel you might find in a playground which I think is good for the dogs to run and chase each other on.

    weekday dog park

Close to home and some room to roam! Good park, clean, water bowls (fill yourself), some shade, gravel. High and low energy dog areas. Always a good mix of dogs and people! I have two big dogs and they love this place. Perfect close to home, burn off some energy mid week park.
