Bring your pup to the pet-friendly Explore Park in Roanoke, VA. Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 115, this park features hundreds of acres of rolling hills, pristine woodlands, hiking trails, river frontage, outdoor adventure and a visitor information center. Great, but…
I was excited to have an alternative to tenting when I saw Explore Park’s dog friendly Cab-Inns! Unfortunately ran into some issues in that I was not allowed to leave my dog in the tiny cabin for “any length of time”, nor was I allowed to bring her to the private shower/bathrooms. As I was traveling alone, this resulted in needing to put her in the air-conditioned car (90° days during my stay here) while I showered or used the restroom. Dog-friendly only moderately. I wish I had known of this challenge ahead of time! That being said, the cabins were cute and convenient with only a $10 fee per pet per night.
