It takes a lot for me to give anything a one star, but I really expected more from this dog park. My dog didn't even want to go in and she has been on a long road trip with me. There is poop scattered everywhere, as well as burrs cigarette butts. Yes it is a nice big Park but it is not being maintained at all. The parking lot is filthy and there is trash scattered everywhere. I tried to take her into the adjoining Park and there for nothing but hazards even in the large grassy area where she could have run around on a long leash. In the adjoining park there were bandages, a huge happy dead bird, trash littered everywhere, broken glass everywhere, a rusty razor blade, and goodness knows what else. We turned right around. She didn't even want to chase the ball in the dog park presumably because there was so much poop. What a shame it is not maintained.

Room to run, worth the stop

This park was great for a much needed stop on a road trip. A bit further off the interstate, it's in a housing development, so no bothersome traffic. The park was great for our Vizsla that wanted to stretch and run after spending hours in the car. Beware: the dog park is all woodchips, but there is grass next door, if you keep on leash. In the dog park, there are some trees and a little shade, plenty of benches (some covered, some not), bins, but no water. The day we went--middle of day in July--there were no other dogs there.

    Great park!

I took my 10 month shy husky mix for her first visit, we are new to the area. The park is huge, it has water now on both fenced sides. Good amount of parking, disc golf area behind the lot. Lots of shaded areas, people were friendly and welcoming of me and my pup, and it was overall clean with everyone there cleaning up after their dogs. Around 12 there were 5 or 6 other friendly dogs there. This will be my go to place.

    Westgate Community Dog Park

A very nice dog park! It is HUGE! When we went there were no other dogs, which can be both a benefit and a draw back, depending on the day and your dog. There is no water at this park, nor are there any water bowls, so bring you own!
