    Port Jefferson Harbor is a pet-friendly spot in New York. This small, harbor-side beach in the Village of Port Jefferson has an excellent area for owners to walk their pups. Try to go at low tide; there's a lot more beach then! The location is very dog-centric, so along with a romp on the beach, it's nice to walk through the village. Visit Website

      Great little beach!

      I’ve only been 2 times so far and both times my dog had a blast running in the water and swimming with other dogs.

      One thing to watch out for is that it’s not fenced in so if they hear another dog in the parking lot they can run out to greet them very easily.

      We also did have to leave both times due to people bringing dogs in that weren’t friendly with other dogs. If that didn’t happen we probably would’ve stayed much longer.

      Great beach!

      Very nice beach for both dogs and their owners! It has been very clean the two times I’ve been there which is always important when going somewhere with dogs. Nice owners and nice dogs, and the town nearby has great seafood.

      Very nice

      spacious and room to run. everyone (human and canine) was super friendly. water is pretty. I agree with going at low tide. we’ll be back!

      Great Area!

      Great area where you can let your dog have an off-leash run and a round or two of fetch! Not the biggest stretch of beach, but plenty of space if you’re looking to take a walk and enjoy the harbor!

      Great Location

      the area and town are so nice. lots of dog friendly restaurants within walking distance. the beach area for the dogs is huge. just be aware the area is not fenced in and there are tons of dogs off leash, so if your dog isn’t okay with other dogs running up to them then this isn’t the place for you.
