N.b. you can't get into this park without becoming a member. I stopped by on my way from Minnesota to Florida to find a combination lock on the gate and a phone number to call to inquire about membership. When you're travelling, you don't have time for that.

I stopped with my Aussie at this dog park on my way to Chicago from Kansas City. All of the dogs and people were friendly. The park was flat and well fenced with water for dogs and people. My dog loves to run and have other dogs chase her which was perfect in this park since it was large and flat. Also it was well maintained with no mud.

It's not as fancy or big as the Urbana Dog Park, but it's a lot easier to keep track of your dog, and all of the dogs and people I've met there are awesome! I don't know why but I've found that my dogs play more in the Champaign Dog Park than the Urbana one. It also doesn't have as much mud or critters (squirrels, snakes, turtles) as the Urbana Dog Park, so my dogs can roam around without getting muddy or bitten by a snake! I wish it had bigger trees for more shade in the summer. Some days, the smell from the water plant next door is pretty bad. You get used to it, though.
