The dog-friendly Southaven County Park is a popular picnicking site in Yaphank, NY. Boating and freshwater fishing are permitted. The Carmans River flows through this scenic, pine-oak forested park. Camping is also available, with sites for tents and trailers. Leashed dogs are welcome. Parking fee only during summer, Memorial to Labor Day weekends. Visit Website

Off season a good stop for a walk
trails are poorly marked but it is a big park. lots and lots of picnic tables around the parking lot. in the summer the parking fee is 15$, which is too much for what you get.
