Chaptico Park
Chaptico Park is a pet-friendly destination in Mechanicsville, MD. There are picnic tables, a playground, nine soccer and lacrosse fields with practice areas, restrooms and a concession area. It's also home to trails for you to explore with your pooch by your side. Leashed dogs are welcome, as long as they are cleaned up after.

This is a short trail that takes you along side part of Coffee Hill Run. My phone calculated our walk at 1.6 miles. We encountered a decent sized box turtle with a healthy yellow pattern on its shell. Apparently there is some evidence that this area was once stomping grounds of the Chaptico Native Americans.
