After many wonderful experiences at this dog park I am sad to say after today’s experience I had, I am very disappointed with the demeanor of the owners.
My fiancé and I have had incidents in the past with one particularly large dog. Today was no different. My dog was being targeting by him. Trampled, humped repeatedly(not today but last visit), and harassed non stop. My dog is very care free and kind to others but after being aggravated by this dog for 30 minutes he started to get pissed off. Rightfully so. My fiancé and I kept trying to keep our dog away from this dog but he kept latching on to mine and tormenting him. After the owners finally realized their dog was being a pain they brought him to the other side of the park and continued to trash talk us on how we were the problem.
My fiancé, nonchalantly asked if there was a problem. To this response we got verbally attacked by all of the other owners who had followed these people to the other side saying we should leave or we should have brought our dog over there when in fact he was not the instigator. He is fine with every other dog there. This one dog in particular just would not stop running into him, puppy guarding (no pun intended), soaking him with slobber, and stepping all over him.
As we tried to defend our reasoning for our behavior towards their dog the owner of the dog called me a rude name which was uncalled for because I, a dog owner and lover was trying to defend my pup. We walked away from the situation as it was extremely immature the way we were attacked for just trying to stand up for our dog!!
Anyways. After walking away from the situation, owner of said dog starts crying behind a tree when I very much kept my cool and stood my ground, another fellow dog owner who was not related to this dog suggests that those people who own the instigator SLASH MY TIRES ON MY CAR! So my fiancé over heard.
Needless to say, if you’re interested in joining a cult, love dogs, and liked to be threatened go to the waretown dog park:) - ChantelApr 6, 2021Don’t Bring Happy Dogs
A very large elderly community goes to this park. Due to this, your dog better be extremely well behaved and willing to stay ten feet away. My dog is a jumper (I took full responsibility for this poor behavior, believe me), which some understand comes with the territory of being at, well, a dog park. Often times they bring bagels and other treats and are surprised when the dogs are surrounding them. I shouldn’t be afraid that my dog is being too dog-like AT A DOG PARK. Many owners also pay no mind to their dogs. Sometimes our dogs get too excited and I seem to be the only one trying to encourage them all to move. I guess this is just a day care? Save yourself the trouble.
