    Stono River County Park

    Stono River County Park in Johns Island, SC, is pet friendly. Located at the foot of the Limehouse Bridge, this recreation area offers river views from 1.5 miles of wooded trails and marsh boardwalks for walkers, runners and cyclists. The park spans 85.5 acres, which includes highland, marsh island and 48 acres of marsh adjoining the Stono River. Leashed dogs are welcome on the trails as long as they are cleaned up after.       Beautiful location

      This place has beautiful scenery! Great walking path for humans and pups!

      A very nice scenic hike!

      The Stono River County Park is not a long hike but nicely set up. The entrance has regular bathrooms, not porta potties. Then the drinking fountain has a dog fountain too! Entrance fee is $1.00- great deal. We started walking on asphalt then to a nice long boardwalk then gravel around the island. It’s a little over a mile long but really enjoyable. We were the only out of state car there. Another positive is we were only a half mile from the trail head of the West Ashley Greenway.
