    Challenging but Worth It

I brought my two dogs, a 12 year old heeler mix and a 6 year old lab mix on June 22nd. They both completed the trail. Please be sure to bring plenty of water, the last stretch is VERY sunny and was hot. We started the trail around 9am. I'd recommend going a little earlier to avoid some of the heat. I brought cooling bandanas for them, musher's secret, and just in case some gauze/vet wrap and neosporin to hrlp treat any potential blisters. My older dpg definitely needed more breaks and rests in the shade. I think the sand can be very hot on their pads. So yes it's dog friendly and dogs can complete it. But please be sure to be prepared. Happy hiking!
