    This park is very small.

This park is very small. There is no way I could even play fetch with a tennis ball with my puppy. I'm sure it's great for smaller dogs tho...

    Not welcoming to new people/pets

The people at this dog park were so incredibly rude. This was my first time there with my puppy, and I came in at a different entrance not seeing the large breed side of the dog park (filled with wood chips and no shade btw) I saw a basset hound there so decided that this must be the place to enter. Rather then telling me about the other large breed side, they kept making rude remarks and then proceeded to tell me all of their rules. Very unwelcoming experience so we decided to leave.

This park does not like large dogs

only people with small dogs will enjoy this park, the large dog area has sharp wood chips mixed with shards of glass that I've picked up by the handfuls. The small area is beautifully maintained, why are the large dogs being punished all over the county? Get rid of the wood chips and make this a nice place for all.

    Have and have-nots

Came to visit Pismo Beach. Went here to visit. To be a large dog, suxxx big time. Coarse wood, very little shade. Contrast that with beautiful green grass and nice shade trees.

    Nice Park

My dogs and I were on Vacation in the area and we needed a place for them to run around. I found the local dogs to be friendly and well supervised by their owners. The people were also friendly and helpful and shared information about other local spots. We got there early enough to see two volunteers cleaning the park and making sure that it was safe and comfortable. It was a lovely experience.

    Disappointed

I gave this park a 5 star review when my dog was a puppy and was playing in the small dog area, where there was soft grass for her paws. Now she is 7 pounds over the weight limit for small dogs and she is in the large dog area, filled with wood chips. These wood chips are free, and because they are, they are filled with trash, including glass shards and metal shards, which gets spread through the whole park, I know this to be true since I've helped spread the wood chips when they are brought in. Despite my concerns, the dog park committee continues to use the free wood chips. I don't take my dog there anymore for her safety. I would NOT recommend this park for large dogs, but for small dogs, it's great (except that some of the owners are extremely rude on that side).

great park for all sized dogs

This park has the double gates for entry, and a grass area for the smaller dogs to play. The larger dogs have a large run to accommodate long fetch throws. Overall it is well maintained and the people there are very nice.

    Great Park

Good dogs and good people. Took our dog every day while staying in Pismo Beach. "Fido" was a very happy dog between this park and the beach. Great park, indeed!

    A lifesaver

This is a nicely-run park that is a lifesaver for our dogs when we're in the area, as my lady Basset does not like to do her business on a leash. It's well-maintained with water, baggies, scoops, etc.

    Great place for dogs

Has 2 fenced in yards, one for smaller dogs (grassed area) and a larger one for dogs over 25 pounds (wooden chips). For the most part, the dogs are very social and if someone brings in a dog that isn't, the locals have no problem either talking to the owner or taking their dogs home. You can't really control if someone brings in an aggressive dog, but it's usually addressed by others. I bring my puppy here almost every day, I've never seen her in harms way and she always has fun there. They take care of the park daily, provide water and poop bags.
I highly recommend this park for dogs.

    Great Dog Park!

We're visiting this area and brought our Doberman to this dog park. He had a great time! There's shade, benches, water, an area for large and small dogs. A very nice park!

    You never know

Some days my dog has loved the park and all the owners have been responsible and the dogs are behaved.....however there have been days when people bring their aggressive dogs and they dont take responsibility for them. Beware!
