Bradley Station Dog Park

Bradley Station Dog Park is pet-friendly. Located behind the North Carolina city’s bus station, the park is a convenient place for local dogs to play off-leash. It's divided into a section for small dogs under 25 lbs and another for large dogs. Let your pooch roam free on the grass and in the mulch, but make sure to keep the park clean by picking up after your pup. Visit Website

Very nice but beware of fence gap.

Bradley Station dog park a very nice, well manicured dog park! When we visit new parks I walk the perimeter to make sure the fence and gates are in tact, which was important here because it is in the middle of a city, next to a bus station and a busy downtown road.

My only complaint is that in the large dog area there is a part of the fence at the back that is not fully connected at the corner, and also at the back is a fence panel section that does not fully touch the ground because it is on a hill. My two goldens are 90 pounds and 50 pounds, and the could both easily squeeze through the misconnected fence, and the small one could squeeze under the panel straight into the bus station area, if they really wanted to. This area is for dogs more than 25 pounds, so a smaller dog could absolutely get loose, with no quick way to get yourself on the other side to catch them. I have emailed the city to see if this is something they are willing to address, and I'll update my review if they do!

On the bright side, I was happy to see very nice grass and planted flowers, and shade with a bench but not total shade so when it rains it can dry up quickly, which the mud is my main complaint at other parks. The large dog area has more than enough space for dogs to run and play.
4 out 5 bones! Will return soon!

UPDATE! 4/10/21 The city of Gastonia NC Parks and Recreation emailed me back. They are escalating my concern to all their directors and are hopeful to have the fences fix as soon as possible. I’m thankful as this is such a nice park I would love to return to!
