Inlet Pond County Park

Inlet Pond County Park offers a well marked trail system (about 1.5 miles) through woodlands, open areas of shrubs and vines, and mature oak forest. Leashed dogs are welcome on these easy to follow trails. The trail leads to freshwater Inlet Pond that has an observation platform with seats. In late summer, hundreds of Bull Frog tadpoles inhabit the freshwater pond. Herons and egrets forage around the edge. The pond also hosts a pair of Mute Swans each spring for nesting and raising their cygnets. Tree Swallows and Red-winged Blackbirds nest around the pond. Beyond is a Long Island Sound. Visit Website

    Ticks everywhere

3 days ago, me, my wife and our two dogs went to Inlet Pond County Park. when we got home we were infested with nymph ticks. we pulled 100’s of ticks off of us and our dogs. we will never go back again.

    Ends in a great beach!

not sure how crowded this gets during the summer but we came in early April and it was not crowded at all. It’s an easy short hike that ends in a wide expanse of beach. will come back.
