august 2023- I thought the wetlands were closed to all visitors.

initially skeptical to locate, but literally at the very end of the road. you can’t miss it! ..very flat dirt paths, easy to walk along. no luck on wildlife, though the pups received a ton of love from other families :) not too many areas to conveniently stop in shade for water, though my dogs powered through it and enjoyed it! definitely looking forward to going again !

love love love this place! tons of wildlife here (yes, incl. alligators and snakes - saw gators in the water, no snakes. I mean it is Florida after all!) parking lot has restrooms (porta-potties - but they were clean). wide trail, not crowded at all. truly a great place to walk and enjoy Florida wildlife with your pup!

My 2 yr old dachshund enjoyed his walk here. There are a lot of birds to see, and also alligators. We saw four, one in the water, three sunning themselves along the water's edge, near the trail. It got a little spooky seeing them (one was kind of small, one big, and one a monster), and thankfully Yogi paid no attention to them and didn't start barking. I did pick him up when we saw the monster. But, although there are gators and snakes (although we saw none of those) it's a nice place to take Fido for a good walk.
