Newport Beach Dog Park

Newport Beach Dog Park is located at the northern end of the Civic Center and Park, this fenced area is a great place for your pooch to safely stretch her legs. There's on-street parking on Avocado Avenue near the dog park, or you can park in the Civic Center parking structure and walk through the 14-acre park with your leashed pooch over a bridge across the San Miguel. Snobby crowd, small park
Two fenced areas. Small dog side is turf and cement. Large dog size is turf cement, and a dirt area. All dogs were friendly and family breeds when we visited. Not super big, but was a good use of 'available' space between two roads. Canopy for some shade. No restrooms. Limited street parking. Was informed it is a homeless spot at night. Is next to transit station. Crowd was a bit snobby, as to be expected for the area. They don't seem to like tourists even on major holidays although I'm sure if you wear a Rolex, a massive diamond, and some other pretentious and guady apparel they will be friendly to you. Maybe I should go back just because they don't like my 'kind'...

Fun park
The park has a small and large dog section with water fountains for the dogs. The small dog area is mostly fake grass. The large dog area has a large dirt area for the dogs to run around. It has not been too crowded but there were some other dogs for play time. We have gone a few times and would go again.
