  Salt Flats is quieter

  Love going up to Salt Flats with my dogs. It’s lots quieter than tibble fork and way bigger. The road is crazy to get up, but well worth it.

  Great location

  I love how close this is for a get-out-of-the-city afternoon with our black lab. There are hiking/walking/biking trails that’ll suit anyone and for us the small river and reservoir is perfect for playing fetch or swimming. It’s very popular for SUP’ing.

  The parking is limited and the main “beach” area is small so depending how busy it can be a little too crowded for some. Keep in mind that it’s a small reservoir and not a lot of open space for fetch.

  On the way up the canyon there are many stops, most along the river) for picnics, day-use, trails and camping where we’ve grabbed takeout before heading up the canyon to eat on a picnic table.

  It’s shaded throughout.
