Washington Island Ferry
Washington Island Ferry is pet-friendly. Departing from Northport Pier at the end of Highway 42, Washington Island Ferry has been traveling 5 miles to and from Washington Island since 1940. The route has remained the same over the years, passing Plum, Pilot and Detroit Islands along the way. Dogs are welcome on the main deck of the ferry as long as they are leashed or kept in the car. Pets ride for free.

Pets are free to use the ferry. We kept our dog inside the car with us. We took turns staying with him in the car to be with our pre-teen on the observation deck.
