    Great Park

Beautiful park for water loving pups. Fun trails and several spots to take a dip. The dog-friendly area is not fenced in, but good fun for well-behaved pets that enjoy hiking & swimming. Not very crowded on a beautiful weekday afternoon.

Wooded oasis with a stream, not fenced

We love Glencarlyn Dog Park! It's not fenced, so it's only for dogs that won't run off. It's a large, wooded oasis for your dog to play, and it has a stream to frolic in. The water seems much cleaner than a few miles downstream at Shirlington Dog Park.

    This park is amazing!

I was a bit worried about the off leash dog park here, because the boundary is marked by signs instead of fences. My dog can't read the signs. I was worried he would take off into the woods after a squirrel. But he did quite well and stayed with me the whole time. It was a very hot day, and the main bonus of this dog park is that it is in the woods, so nice and shady. And the water running through the park is shallow enough for my scaredy cat standard poodle who doesn't realize he is a water retriever. He enjoyed splashing around without having to worry about swimming. There's a lot to do in the park for the rest of the family, too, including a rail trail (which is NOT shaded, so maybe more fun in cooler weather), picnic tables, clean restrooms, a very nice playground, and nice trails. The parking areas weren't huge, so it might be a good idea to get there early on weekends. We went during the week and had no trouble finding parking. Take your camera. Great place for pictures. I imagine it will be gorgeous in the fall as well. It's a bit of a drive from our house, so this will have to be a special treat, but it is by far our favorite dog park so far.

    Great Stream & trails!

There is so much you can do at this park. We take our corgi pup to the stream, walk through different trails, & always visit the caboose. Its clean & has a trail so that means your pup will most likely not get dirty from the walk!

    Great Park!

Our pup absolutely loves this park! The park itself is very clean (no dog poo or trash laying around). It is not fenced in so if your dog is a runner be sure to be alert if you dog takes off up the hill away from the park. Bring a towel or two if your dog plays down by the sand/water.

    Great Off Leash Park

We love coming to Glencaryln Park to have our dog go off leash with any size dogs! Its a wooded area and we don't have to drive too far away from home. Our dog loves going into the creek and being able to go on the trails. It's a great off leash area and perfect for those hot humid days where the dogs can cool off in the creek.

    Great place!

This place is great! Nice little stream, woods to walk in (not a lot but there are many paths), and it meets the W&OD trail if you need a walk. Potties at the pavilion. Lots of shade n good dogs.
