The doggie beach is actually perfect! Dogs like grass better than sand. Did you know that grass is cooler on their feet. Most people complain that there's no sand on the doggie beach because THEY want to take their dogs over to the human beach where they want to be. Fido doesn't complain about his area I'm sure! I mean there's 3.5 acres for both fido and master to walk, talk together, and check out the beautiful nature. He doesn't care about all the attention his master cares about. So let's just give him a doggie day at his beach with cool grass between his toes as he runs, walks, and sniffs what he's so grateful to this park for provid8ng for us all. Be more grateful for what you have and not so entitled acting to what you want blaming your dogs wants. Thank you Harrison Lake State Park for the most beautiful state park I've ever seen. Extremely nice hard working people.

we took our dog to the dog beach and there wasn’t any sand and it was mucky. so we went over by the people swim area (outside the markings)and Jackson played catch off leash. no one complained and he stayed away from people.

The Harrison Lake State Park Dog beach is located near the campground. There's a sign pointing down to the dog beach from the road. At the "Dog Swim Area" there's a sign posted that dogs are allowed to be off leash in the sand and water only. My dogs really enjoyed swimming at the dog beach and playing in the water. Harrison Lake is a beautiful State Park and I would highly recommend. The water felt great and it was really worked out for my dogs to have somewhere to cool off.
