Park would be awesome, but people make it bad

Dog park itself is awesome, partially due to fact that there isnt many people.
And there is reason why there arent many people. I came few times and quickly realize how thus goes. Two ladies bring dogs that show clearly sign of aggression. One of the ladies told me that since i have female it will be fine. Her dog didnt share her optimism and was just giving signs of imminent attack. Meanwhile bunch of other people came with dogs and seeing those two - just turned away right before gate, loaded dogs back to car and left. Several of them. I lasted 10 minutes and followed their example. Enough to see how those ladies wont clean after their dogs. Not going to guess how their living conditions looks like.
I wouldnt want to drive that far for nothing...
I assume that explains why the park is empty. Its really pitty for it would be great place. Untill police gets involved and patroll I guess it will be what it is.

Nice spot but terrible owners today

We went for the first time today... our baby is fixed but some couples dog kept being aggressive and mounted her once, all owners and their dogs congregate at the gate they don’t stay moving as the rules state they make it hard to enter, saw several different dog fights. We have our 100 lb German Shepherd trained and on an e-collar so she follows our commands. Next time some couples dog is attempting to hump ours and they act like they don’t care, the wife of that couple may get dry humped too since it’s cool lol :) think about how you and your pets act and respect others, don’t allow your dog to do anything you wouldn’t let your kid do...

    Great Dog Park

I had been told not to go to a dog park for fear of what my dog might encounter adverse health wise and dog behavior wise. Well Horizons Dog Park proved to be a wonderful experience. The people are nice, the dogs I have meet are well cared for and disciplined. The park is well maintained and the grass is thick and kept mowed. Water is supplied and there are plastic bags supplied to clean up behind your dog. My dog loves it and is allowed to run free and I don't have to worry about him getting hurt or running away mindlessly as he plays. He is only 8 months and still pays no attention to where he is, just has fun.

    I highly recommend this park.

    Well kept and Nice

I really like this dog park. It is the best I have been too. It is grassy and well maintained. Owners seem to be friendly and stay on top of their dogs behavior. I typically go at off peak hours, but my dogs enjoy it. The park rangers are extremely nice too! They keep the grass cut, etc. and always say hello.

    Great Park

I have a new puppy, a boxer and last weekend was our first time at the park... we went into the small dog area because she's still small. Sophie really loved running around there. We are apartment dwellers so having a dog park near is wonderful!!

    Clean and open

This park is great! I love the divided area for large and small dogs. I also like how open it is. My dog loves to run around here and has so much fun. The other park is too muddy.

    voilence?

Comment on your comment: What is wrong with Washington park? I go there all the time and like it. All dogs are under control. The only fight I have seen in 3 years was between two pit bulls. They were immediately removed by their owners- they way it should be.

    a big feild

Mostly country people whos dogs love everybody. A great improvement over the park on the southside of winston. There are a few violent dogs the other park that are out of control. Horizon may have a few bad apples here and there but nothing like the constant violence at Washington park. Come to this park, don't go there.
