Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park
Fido is welcome to join you when exploring dog-friendly Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park in Pãhoa, HI. Established in 1916, the park encompasses 523 square miles from the summit of Maunaloa to the ocean. Begin your visit at Kīlauea Visitor Center before driving the two rain roads through the park; Chain of Craters Road down to Puʻu Loa Petroglyphs, and Crater Rim Drive. Dogs can accompany you in vehicles, on paved roads, parking areas or picnic sites, but are not permitted in undeveloped areas which include designated wilderness and backcountry trails.
