There are 2 different locations for the dog runs

    Hi all,

There is a small dog park located near basketball courts, that I believe this post is pinned to. However there is a very large double dog run(small and large dog areas) located over a bridge near the baseball and football fields. There’s a restroom located next to the bridge. It’s a long walk across the bridge and you must pass several baseball fields to get to it but the space is HUGE and worth it if you have a dog who likes to run. This place is well taken care of and has a lot parking nearby if you have a car.

Hard to find but once you find it there is no designated area for small dogs. We have tried several time to go but usually very rough play by very large dogs. We know of a French Bulldog who was thrown by the play and injured. May be a good spot for large strong dogs, but wish there was an area for smaller dogs to be safe and enjoy the park.

I am at this dog run all the time. However, it is not in Lincoln Park proper. The reason many of you can't find it is because it is in a secondary area on the OTHER SIDE OF 1&9/440. Traffic in Lincoln Park has been made one way, so if you enter the park from the east side, say, off of JFK Boulevard and continue bearing right around the fountain, down the north side of the park and continue around past the track, there is a car and pedestrian bridge just past the track and the public restrooms. TURN RIGHT ON THE BRIDGE and bear left as soon as you get to the bottom of it, and drive to the very end of the road. The dog run is sandwiched between softball and cricket fields and a large soccer field. There is a roundabout at the very end of the road with a parking area just before it, which is where you park for the run and where the run is actually located. It sounds a lot more complicated than it is, but it took me a few tries to find it myself. Second, there is no separate run for small dogs. Most owners are attentive to their pets here so if your dog is well-socialized, regardless of size, you should be ok. There are two entrance gates with double gates, a lot of seating and as people have mentioned, dispensers with plastic bags to scoop poop. Bring tennis balls--there aren't many there, and DO NOT bring other toys in.

    Could not find Dog Park

I couldn't find the park either.. walked end to end of the park, on a cold December day. So I just used the vacant ball park to exercise my 2 yr old GSD.

    No visible Dog Run

Park is really nice and Bella loved running around but as Andrea mentioned above we were unable to find the dog run described above or any area designated for solely dogs. And we searched for it on foot and by car.

    Small Dog Run

The park is delightful as Jill mentioned above, however, there is no specific area for small dogs to romp around as the description implies.

    wow . . . bow-wow !!!

i'm not one to write reviews on places that i've been, but just wanted to share a little something in regard to lincoln park dog run. i am a bayonne resident and have only been to a few dog parks, but i must say that this dog run is great. the space is not only very large but also very clean. the water fountain works, there is plastic supplied to pick up after the dogs, there is a huge tree for shade in the summer months & it's in a very nice location. there are balls lying around for whoever wants to play catch & a number of benches along the fence. the people are friendly & are very responsible as far as looking after their dogs. the dogs, no matter what size, all seem to get along well. this is such a great exercise option, especially for those of us with chubby dogs. i think lincoln park dog run is fantastic & i am just so glad that it's close to where i live which makes it very convenient ! :-)
